The Loop Entrelac Strap How-To Video

Today we are casting on for our The Loop Entrelac Tank for our summer KAL, and for those of you knitting along with us and trying entrelac for the first time, here is a really extensive, long winded entrelac how to video to help you get started.

The Sweatshop of Love: Entrelac Strap How-To from Patrick Tracy on Vimeo.

Cast on your 12 stitches and follow the video step by step until you’ve got a handle on entrelac. I promise you’ll love it!

Entrelac Snood How To Video

That is right, kids! I said VIDEO! It’s been too long since my last videos announcing my ebook patterns, and what better way to get back into it than with a how do?

Entrelac Snood in Pictures

Here is my Entrelac Snood! This pattern is going to be part of my next published patterns and ebook coming out in November. I’m also teaching it as a two part project class on Mondays October 18th and 25th.

It’s, clearly, really awesome, but it just isn’t getting the love it deserves. So, without further ado, let me demonstrate how amazing this snood is!

So there you have it! Shoot me an email at allyson [at] thesweatshopoflove [dot] com to sign up for this class on October 18th and 25th, or to get more information about this online class coming up in January, or to get more information about the pattern that is soon to be released!

Thanks for watching, and, as usual, putting up with my ‘ums’ and high pitched child’s voice.

Introducing the Hello Sailor Entrelac Clutch

Officially this is supposed to be a launch for the Hello Sailor Entrelac Clutch AND the Knot Necklace but Renegade ran me right out of them. Which is a good thing! I’m going to be making more, but until then the clutch was feeling left out.

Oh! Hello, Sailor! Entrelac Clutch

So here is it’s moment to shine! You can now get the Hello Sailor Entrelac Clutch on Etsy for $28. It comes with everything you need to make that cute clutch!

Including:

Yarn (in Navy and Cream)

A little green vintage button

A zipper and some apple print lining fabric

The laminated instructions

All stuffed inside a bright yellow project bag!

Everything is in there and ready to go!

You will need size 6 needles to work the body of the clutch and the flap closure, 2 size 9 double pointed needles for the icord handle, a yarn needle to attach that handle, and a needle and thread to sew in that lining.

So Cute, Y'all!

I know I know, you are scared of entrelac. Don’t be! It’s really fun and easy once you get the hang of it. I use these exact instructions included in this pattern to teach entrelac so it’s really straight forward and written for people who have never entrelaced before.

And don’t you think it’s worth learning for this cute bag?

Order your kit now! I’m closing the shop again in a few weeks for the DIY Trunk Show coming up, so get them while they’re hot!

World Wide Knit in Public Day, Sweatshop Style

Saturday, June 12th was World Wide Knit in Public Day, and we over at The Sweatshop of Love celebrated in style.

Celebrating World Wide Knit in Public Day

Ann, Laura (in her Fitted Knits Tunic!), Rachael, and Tara were all hard at work on their projects while sipping iced tea and beers at Street Side Cafe, who were lovely hosts.

Fitted Knits Tunic, Entrelac Scarf

Here is another look at Laura’s cute tunic. And she is rocking out to a Sweatshop Twin Cities Anklet Knit Kit! Rachel is working on a really fun entrelac scarf. Scared of entrelac? The fall class schedule is going to be crazy into entrelac so just wait!

Action Shot!

Grisel is diligently working on the boring part of her toe up sock (post heel turn – gah!), and I dragged Katie along, too. How long can she live with me and not learn to knit? Current count: 8 days.

Gil, Grisel, and Me!

Tara took some pics, too.

Ohh Cute Shirt!

(I rocked out my The Loop Entrelac Top for the occasion!)

As always, World Wide Knit in Public Day was a blast. Any excuse to pull my knitting out at the bar! Thanks to everyone who came out!

The Sweatshop’s First Giveaway!

Yesterday I was the super luckiest girl in the world and won a beautiful skein of yarn from Kitchen Sink Dyeworks! It totally made my day, I can’t wait to get it, and it inspired me to think up my own giveaway!

I’ve never done one of these before! I’ve had it on my mind grapes for a while now, and I figure today would be a wonderful day to kick this off, what with the Tigers and Twins having The Double Header of Doom. 11:05am. 6:05pm. My season has come down to these next three days.

… but enough about my self inflicted baseball torture and onto the giveaway!

Knit Headband!

Cute!

Cute!

This season The Sweatshop of Love is focusing on quick, cute, easy gifts for the holiday season, and this is one of my favorites.

Based on the knitty pattern Quant, but, you know, easier and quicker, I’ve got quite a few of these puppies in The Sweatshop inventory, waiting for the right moment to pop out.

Love Entrelac!

Love Entrelac!

I love me some entrelac! And this pattern is a great introduction. But, why learn to entrelac when you can just win this cute headband!

The i-cord ties make this headband fit snugly to any head, and will keep your ears warm and hair not so hat-heady. It’s perfect for pony tails (I’ve been told!).

To enter, leave a comment with an idea you have for a  present you plan on making for someone this holiday season.

You get bonus points if you tweet this giveaway! I’m at twitter/sweatshopoflove.

And are you a fan of The Sweatshop on facebook?

I’ll pick a winner on Friday, if I’m not curled up in fetal position because the Tigers blew their shot at the ALCS.

Good luck!
