A couple weeks ago I turned my Baby Sweater Buffet pattern into a snowsuit for my nephew Baby Nolan. And today I’m releasing the pattern!

Baby Snowsuit!

This is a free supplement pattern to my original Baby Sweater Buffet pattern available for purchase here. This snowsuit pattern will do you no good without the original Baby Sweater Buffet pattern.

Bonus? PT designed the pattern! And he did a great job.

I can’t wait to see a bunch of babies in baby snowsuits!

Christmas Present FO: Baby Nolan’s Snowsuit

I love a Friday FO! And who could resist a BABY Friday FO?

I’ve had the knitting portion of Baby Nolan’s Snowsuit finished for a few weeks now, but I hadn’t FINISH finished it until now.

Buttons Attached!

I just searched through my buttons for 7 that kinda looked alike but not really. And I couldn’t find Detroit Lion fabric in a print small enough for fabric buttons.

That is right. I said the Detroit Lions!

Holla!

And the Lions got a very rare victory on Sunday, so as of right now this snowsuit isn’t a loser! It is still a shame to cloak a child in defeat so early in life. Cute defeat, though, is much better than ugly defeat, and we’ve got cute in spades.

Have I mentioned how amazing duplicate stitch is? I didn’t know that this sweater was going to be a Lion’s sweater when I started it, but it just kinda happened that way. With the help of sparkly white yarn.

… yes. I see that it’s off center. But when it’s on…

See? Perfect!

… it looks awesome! So I’ll make sure no one lays it down and really examines it.

Thanks Teddy!

I’m knocking these holiday presents out. How is your holiday knitting coming?

Christmas Present Update: Baby Nolan

Last year I had a big dilemma about blogging my knitted holiday presents. This is a knitting blog and, if I’m good, I will only be knitting holiday presents from here on out. So if I can’t blog about the presents I’m knitting then what will I blog about?

So just to review, I decided that the title of these updates will be, ‘Christmas Present Update: ______’, and then the name of the person who’s present is blogged about in that post. That way it is up to you! You want to know what I’m knitting you? Read it. You want it to be a surprise? Don’t read it.

I would, of course, prefer that all my presents be surprises for everyone, but if you’ve got to look you’ve got to look. I’m a curious lady myself.

Baby Sweater Buffet SNOW SUIT!

First up here is Baby Nolan, my nephew, who I know is not reading this post since he is like 3 months old. His mom, on the other hand, surely is. That girl hates surprises. (Hi Emily!)

Since my computer was dead this weekend I got a lot of knitting done, including a start on Nolan’s present. Baby Sweater Buffet is going to get an upgrade! I’m adding PANTS to the pattern as a pattern add-on so give me a few weeks (or days, depending on how long my computer is out) and I’ll be sending the option out to everyone who bought the pattern.

And these are going to be cute! I’m using Lion Brand Wool Ease so it’s easy to wash, in gray and blue, so he is always looking classy.

So, the first holiday presents are well on their way, though checking through the blog archives I started on September 3rd last year and have many more big projects on the docket this year.

Have you started your holiday knitting yet? Should I be worried that I’m starting 3 weeks later this year?!

FO: Ivory Coast DinoSweater

I was asked to knit and donate another DinoSweater that will be an auction item in a fundraiser for Ivory Coast Mothers and Children, an organization building a hospital in the Ivory Coast. So I hopped to it!

I also wanted to show you how important embellishment is to simple projects.

Pre-Fixin's

So here you’ve got a finished cardigan from my Baby Sweater Buffet pattern with a hood buffet option. I used the original dinosweater’s spikes pattern, which is not my own.

It is obviously super cute! But we can do better.

Now With Spots!

I dug around and found three different shades of green and duplicate stitched dinospots on the sweater!

Hot DinoProfile!

It added texture and color to the sweater. I used leftover scraps that were laying around so it cost nothing, and I just winged it with placement and shape.

Fabric Covered Buttons

I also dug around in my fabric and found this green stripey fabric for the buttons.

So, with a little duplicate stitching and some fun fabric covered buttons, this baby sweater went from super cute to HOLY FREAKING CUTE OMGOMGOMG!

Ready to Roll!

I made an extra button, just in case, attached it to a card, and tied the card to the top button hole. Now it’s ready to go make Ivory Coast Mothers and Children some cash!

If you are interested in donating to Ivory Coast Mothers and Children or want to bid on this DinoSweater, contact my girl Patsy or come to the Bastille Day Fete this Saturday, July 10th at Kiki’s Bistro from 1-4, with the auction taking place at 3pm.

Pattern: Baby Sweater Buffet

Yarn: Vanna’s Choice in Dusty Green, Lion Brand Wool Ease in Mink Brown, and other scrap greens

Needles: Size 9 circulars

Ebook Patterns are Now Available Individually!

This last month has been so much fun; checking in on ravelry and seeing how many people are putting my patterns in their queues, seeing people tweet and blog about my patterns. It’s really helpful for me to see what patterns are more popular than others and what knitters are excited to knit so my upcoming patterns and ebooks can get better and better!

And now I’m happy to offer you each of my ebook patterns individually! The ebook is still available in it’s entirety, so if you like 3 or more of these patterns you can buy the ebook and have them all. Otherwise, enjoy 1 or 2!

Thanks again for all the support and feedback from my first ebook!
