Join Us For Knitting in the Bar Tomorrow, Thursday August 12th at 7pm!

I haven’t taught a class since June 29th and I’m excited to hang out with knitters tomorrow! I hope you are planning on joining me at Floyd NY at 131 Atlantic Ave in Brooklyn tomorrow, Thursday August 12th at 7pm for some knitting bar fun!

Can’t make it tomorrow? We’ll be meeting again for:

We’ll be near the corner of Union and Bayard, just knitting away!

~~~
Both of these events will be opportunities for you to come with your knitting questions; with patterns you need help reading, with techniques you can’t figure out, with projects you are stuck on.
Haven’t knit in years? We’ll get you started again! Knitting expert? Come and make some new knitting friends!
Sound like fun? It will be! Forward this to people you think would be interested. Email me at allyson [at] thesweatshopoflove [dot] com if you are planning on coming or if you’ve got any questions.
Fabric Button Making Workshop this Saturday!
My Fabric Button Workshop is this Saturday, June 19th from 1-3pm at New Wave Coffee. This workshop is only $10, or FREE if you bought my Summer Tour 2010 Knitting Patterns Ebook!
We will be making buttons, talking about button placement, attaching buttons, and other things involved with finishing projects. Questions about zippers? Bring them! Linings? Sweet! Have some projects sitting around waiting to be finished? Bring them! We’ve got two hours to make it happen.
I’ll bring a bunch of material for you to choose from for your buttons, but if you’ve got some bring it.
You will need to bring your own fabric button kits. You can pick them up at JoAnn not by the buttons but by the snaps. If you’d like me to pick them up for you tell me how many you need and which size by this Friday the 18th and I’ll pick them up for you and let you know the total cost in class. They are between $2-3 for a pack of 3-4, depending on which size you need.
Saturday, June 12th is World Wide Knit in Public Day, and while Sweatshoppers don’t have any problems knitting in public, we have to set a good example for other knitters who might be a little more timid with their fiber arts. But we can’t just knit in public. We are going to step it up a notch.
The Sweatshop of Love is proud to introduce drinking to World Wide Knit in Public Day! Please join us at Street Side Cafe on Kedzie and Armitage in Logan Square from 4-7pm Saturday, June 12th for knitting in public with $2.50 PBR tall boys!
Call it extreme knitting. Call it stupid. We are calling it awesome. And we hope to see you there!
Email me if you have any questions about these classes or if you want to sign up. I look forward to hearing from you!
See you soon,
Allyson
