Speckle and Stone Blog Tour

I’m SO excited about today’s post, because if you haven’t stumbled across designer Alexis Winslow‘s new collection, Speckle and Stone, I’m about to make your day.

SpeckleandStoneCover

This 5 pattern collection inspired by Alexis’s love of pottery is just straight up on point – it has Alexis written all over it! The complicated and brilliant patterns with unusual construction are all extremely wearable. As a designer I wish I would have thought of it, and as a knitter I want to cast everything on to try it out!

Tiber Cardigan

Tiber Cardigan

Definitely my favorite pattern from the collection is Tiber Cardigan (you aren’t surprised are you?!). That colorwork is INSANE, and look at those shoulders! How in the world is that done?! I’m crazy in love.

The BACK!

The BACK!

And of course the back is killer. It’s so mesmerizing! I doubly fell in love with it after reading Alexis’s blog post about her process and inspiration having just been in Italy myself.

Brenta Hat and Dolo Mitts

Brenta Hat and Dolo Mitts

If the Tiber Cardigan is a little too much for you to dive in to, I’m also really loving the Brenta Hat and Dolo Mitts – I just love how they go together but not really. Pared here like Alexis is modeling they look so cool – a ‘set’ you could just live in for fall.

Mezzo Cardigan

Mezzo Cardigan

I love the silhouette of the Mezzo Cardigan and the way the colors are placed – something you could lounge in or add instant style to any casual outfit.

Arno Pullover

Arno Pullover

And last but not least Arno Pullover, a cozy pullover with insanely flattering shoulder detail and color placement.

Alexis is one of my absolute favorite designers and Speckle and Stone is a killer collection. I can’t wait to watch the projects pop up on ravelry and hopefully cast one of these lovely designs on soon!

So Bright and Lovely

I’m so excited to get this project off my WIP list and up on my wall.

The Whole Collection!

The Whole Collection!

I’m getting quite a beautiful little collection of cities now.

All Together!

All Together!

I can very safely say I’m super addicted to stitching these patterns and can’t wait to stitch up my next one – Pretty Little Italy! Going to clearly have to do a little rearranging though!

Love You Cross Stitch!

Love You Cross Stitch!

Before that though I’ve got my eye on her 12 Days of Christmas set. I’ve got dreams of making bunting out of it! I can’t stomach starting before Thanksgiving though so we’ll see how much I can actually get done to hang up.

A winter storm is headed Chicago’s way for tonight – SO hard to believe because it’s been so mild! Being snowed in this weekends sound pretty heavenly if you ask me. I wish you lots of holiday crafting time, too!

And now for some KAL progress! Some very little KAL progress.

Fifth Color!

Fifth Color!

When we last saw my Mishigami I had just started the 4th color, so I’m making more progress on the body of this sweater than I thought since I’m well into the 5th color now. Not too shabby! I’m hip shaping and will be finished with the body soon.

Bottom Colors

Bottom Colors

I’m still loving this sweater! I was worried that I would get a little sick of the stitch pattern but I’m still loving it – it’s so satisfying to finish a stripe section!

And yep! I’m still alone in my KAL. Though people have been feeling sorry for me and popping up to say hi, which is so sweet. Everyone is going to be SUPER jealous when I’m wearing my Mishigami out on the town!

When we last left off I had just finished my left Michigander Mitten…. and yep! That’s still where I’m at with them. I haven’t quite worked up the energy to cast on that second mitten. It’s not even second mitten syndrome! It’s just life getting in the way. But with the Nov 30th deadline looming I’ll be casting on for that second mitten this weekend I’m sure.

Another little project I would love to tease that I’m working on is my Cascade Coat from Grainline Studio!

Cascade Coat Progress!

Cascade Coat Progress!

After two FULL days of working – seriously like 2 8-10 hour days – I’ve got the shell of the coat together and it’s beautiful and insane! I’ve struggled through some parts of it, but it’s coming together and I’m pretty thrilled. I’ve dug out another big chunk of time to work on it later this week so hopefully I’ll have a coat soon since it’s threatening to actually be coat weather. More pics soon!
