Why yes we DID say we were done for the year when we released episode 12 but we’re just that tricky! We just wanted it to be an extra special surprise when we slapped you with a CHRISTMAS SPECIAL!
In this very special episode Heidi makes us a cocktail, Leah and I get thoughtful gifts for each other and make Heidi feel bad, we share some holiday WIPs, and there are some majorly hilarious bloopers including Leah and I molesting a dress form, me getting a call from President Obama, and me saying some not so nice things about women in Chicago.
If you’re looking for a quick knit last minute gift I’m offering my Twin Cities Headband pattern 20% off with coupon code YARNTALK20! A little giftie from me and YarnTalk.Pin It
I’ve got my fingers in a LOT of pies over here! It won’t look like I’m kind of on a break, but I’m totally kind of on a break and it feels amazing.
Lets get the knitting out of the way real quick since that’s what I get paid the big bucks for. THIS IS SOMETHING VERY PRETTY I CAN’T TALK ABOUT! I’ve got a little pattern collection coming out this spring with my love Teresa Gregorio and this is one of the projects from it. It’s called LACE EXPLODES! It’s going to be awesome. This is also a new colorway from Lorna’s Laces! It’s heaven. That’s about all I can say about that!
Besides, you know, it’s very, very pretty!
The only other thing I’m knitting right now (besides my hibernating Mishigami!) is a Go Team Go Hat from Jill Zielinski I’m whipping up as a Christmas present. I’ve got MANY more of these hats in my future I’m sure. It’s fully customizable and I’ve got a lot of teams and a lot of people who love a lot of teams in my life so this is going to be a go to in my life! This Detroit Lions one is shaping up really well!
I’m chipping away at the 12 Days of Christmas cross stitch pieces! This Satsuma Street pattern is another super winner in my book. I’ve got a dream to make Christmas bunting with these but I’m quickly running out of time to have this finished by actual Christmas. They’re larger than my Satsuma Street Christmas Ornaments from last year so they’re taking more time than I thought they would. I’ll finish them and then they’re getting hung up I don’t care if it’s April!
1/3 of the way there. More soon!
I’ve also been sewing! I bought a TON of flannel from JoAnn over Black Friday for between like $1.75 – $2.25 a yard and I’m going to town on my winter wardrobe.
I’m making Linden Sweatshirts by Grainline Studio (since clearly Jen’s patterns are the only ones I use!) but instead of using jersey or sweatshirt-y materials I’m making the bodies in flannel and the neckline in jersey. I’ve also added jersey sleeve cuffs! They’re freaking cute as hell! More structured than the sweatshirt material ones so they’re a little more versatile , and I got to make them with cats and raccoons on them. They’ll be great with a sweater over them when it gets really cold or with a skirt when it starts to warm up! So I made these 3 and 2 others (a pretty cute plaid and a ridiculous sunglasses print! ha).
The rest of the flannel I bought will soon be Archers! I’m a sewing … machine! … ha
So that’s what I’ve got going on ahead of Christmas! I hope your crafting is going well and that you’ve got a ton of variety, too!
