I teased a couple weeks ago that I had my eye on Grainline Studio’s lovely Adler Shirtdress, which prompted my buds Katie of Under the Red Umbrella and Laura of DoogKnits to get together and organize a sew along!

It kicked off on Monday with Katie’s teaser, here I am following her today, and look for Laura’s update on Friday. She posted a great teaser already, though! So you know this lady is pumped.

Jen over at Grainline Studio’s blog is running an amazing sew along right now, too, which I know is helping me a whole lot!

A Big Fat Mess

A Big Fat Mess

I meant to have a lot more WIP to show off today, but sadly time got away from me! I had some time yesterday to sew, but I’m headed to Michigan this morning for a long weekend and I didn’t want to leave the house looking a mess while I was gone for 5 days. You know, considerate!

So I took the 51 page PDF print out of the pattern, took a bunch of hours to tape that sucker together, and cut all my fabric and interfacing.

So as soon as I’m back in Chicago I’ll be ready to go. I left all the pattern pieces pinned to the fabric so that I don’t forget anything! Hopefully I won’t be too confused when I dig back in.

In the mean time, keep an eye on DoogKnits and Under the Red Umbrella for unofficial Adler Shirtdress sew along fun, and of course Jen at Grainline Studio for actual sewing information. That woman knows what she’s talking about! I can’t wait to learn everything I’m going to learn about sewing while stitching up this dress!
