California!

I’m in California!

California!

California!

Rocking my Liaison Tee with no shirt on under it (as you do in CA), doing a little knitting, and taking sneaky pictures of palm trees.

Me and Katie!

Me and Katie!

And hanging out with this girl! Miss Katie Canavan and I are planning out our Red Letter Day Stitches patterns and other fun embroidery things for 2015, so I’ll be in sunny CA for a week.

Pretty Little Paris!

Pretty Little Paris!

I’m going to be taking a (mostly) break from knitting this week and doing some fun crafting for me instead! I spotted these super adorable cross stitch pattern from Satsuma Street of city scapes all over the world, and since Shane and I are going to Paris and Amsterdam this fall I’m stitching them up as a way for us to commemorate our trip! Fun right?

So first up is Pretty Little Paris. I’ll share WIPs soon! In the mean time I’ll be eating froyo and soaking in some Pacific sunshine!

Review: The Knit Picks Cotlin 2014 Collection

Yesterday I showed off my new pattern, Liaison Tee, part of the Knit Picks Cotlin 2014 Collection, so today let’s take a look at the collection as a whole. I love it! I know you will, too.

Cover Pattern! Band Camp Pullover by Laura Birek

Cover Pattern! Band Camp Pullover by Laura Birek

The cover pattern, Band Camp Pullover by Laura Birek, is a fun combo of stitch pattern and stripes, which is a big design inspiration for me so I’m super down with it!

More stitch pattern and stripes combo? Lacy Baseball Tee by Emily Kintig is right up my alley, too! The shape is super flattering, and it is just really fun.

Are you noticing a theme?! I can’t wait to knit up Amanda Schwabe’s Sea Glass Shawl and wear it as a big scarf this fall!

So Pretty!

So Pretty!

I scoped this adorable set of nail polishes in the Soak Box booth at TNNA last month, and was SO excited to get them in the mail from my friend Teresa Gregorio a few weeks ago! It was such a sweet surprise! I was itching to crack them open.

I had to, of course, use every color at once, so I used the pink-y ones on my toes and the grey and green on my fingers. Matching has never been very important to me so this worked out just fine.

Shane and I

Shane and I

This past weekend Shane and I zipped up to Grand Rapids for a wedding and my nails were looking hot! And Shane and I were looking pretty adorable all around if I do say so myself.

Shane has already gone back to Chicago, but I’m chilling with my family for a couple more days before heading back to the real world myself. My niece and nephew call pop cycles ‘cold ones’, like, “Grandma can I have a cold one?” and, “Aunt Allyson where’s your cold one?” so the kids and I have been enjoying millions of cold ones! It’s pretty damn cute. Cold ones for everyone!
