In February I launched my Vintage Inspired Baseball Knits, a 6 pattern collection of baseball knits you can customize to match your favorite team and look awesome all year long. Monday we looked at my Baby Babe Ruth pattern, and today we are taking another look at my Knickerbocker Tee!
I got my samples back from Knit Picks about a month ago and have been waiting to add a duplicate stitch old english D to the front of it for the Detroit Tigers since then. I finally did it! I used my free 16 Original Baseball Teams Logos pattern, and it was so much fun!
And just in time for the Tigers AMAZING comeback to force a game 5 in the ALDS tomorrow night. I know I’ll be getting a lot of wear out of this sweater this fall!
Knickerbocker Tee: The New York Knickerbockers were one of the first ever baseball teams, and were the first team to wear uniforms, which back then were glorified pajamas and nothing like the uniforms we see players wearing today. Somewhere along the way baseball merchandizing took off, and now female sports fans are in a world of bedazzled pink crop tanks and short shorts. The Knickerbocker Tee is a feminine play on the men’s baseball tees – still sporty, but with a pretty boat neck collar and flattering hem detail. Choose your team’s colors, or your favorite colors, and sport this cute tee everywhere.
I’m in love with this little tee anyway! I love the bottom curved hem detail, the stripes on the sleeves, and in Knit Picks Comfy Sport it’s a pretty quick knit.Pin It
