It HAS been a little quiet around here, hasn’t it?!
I’m frantically (and frantically is an understatement) working on getting the new collection of Holla Knits together.
Sweaters! Sweaters for EVERYONE!
It’s lookin good though, right? I’ve been averaging a sweater every 8 days for the past month. So I have been watching a TON of crappy TV, but not keeping up with the poor old Sweatshop of Love blog very well.
Awesome? I’ve got some fantastic shit down the pipeline. And this Holla Knits Spring/Summer 2013 Collection is going to be amazing, too. Keep an eye on it over at the Holla Knits Blog!
You’ll be able to tell when things calm down a little for me when I stop putting swears in my blog post titles.
So I’ve had this finished for ages, but with the Vintage Inspired Baseball Knits launch, and the fact that I’m up to my ears in the Holla Knits Spring Collection, this post got buried.
Chevron Stripe Infinity Scarf
But I totally finished my Chevron Stripe Infinity Scarf! According to my Ravelry project page, I finished in on February 10th. So yeah, it has been a while!
Way back at the beginning of February I chatted about how I was using this project as a Knit Picks Palette stashbuster, and stashbust I did! When my main colors ran out I traded in white or black.
White and Black Color Subs
You can see in this picture how it all worked out – I started with the first yellow and blue section next to the all black section, and worked around. When colors ran out I’d just start the pattern up again with white or black. I ran out of white at the end and tried to get the length of the scarf with black, but ran out of black about 20 rows from the end of the chart. I kept pretty diligent notes about color changes on my project page.
Infinity Scarf LOVE!
I love it! I’ve worn it out a few times and have gotten pretty hilarious and amazing reaction to it. It will be even better when it’s finally warm out and I can just wear it like it ain’t no thang, instead of wearing it for actual warmth from the freezing, freezing cold. It’s a sunshiney cowl! It needs some damn sun!

Last month I announced a hand knit hat drive for Gilda’s Club in honor of our friend Stefanie who lost her battle with cancer a few months ago. In that month knitters from all over the country knit up hats and sent them in!
We raised 32 hats! Which is so fantastic. We dropped them off to Gilda’s Club Chicago yesterday and they were so sweet and appreciative. We got a tour of their beautiful space, and could not have felt more welcomed.
So Many Different Hats!
So a huge thank you to everyone that donated their time to knitting up a hat for Gilda’s Club. If you want to be involved be sure to get in contact with Chelsea here.
A HUGE thank you to all that were excited about winning a copy of my Vintage Inspired Baseball Knits!
The winner is Kim!
Congratulations Kim! I’ve emailed you and will have your book out to you soon. Thanks again everybody!
Right now I’m sitting in a blizzard, so it’s hard to believe that just a week ago I was sitting in sunny California hanging out with my good friend Katie Canavan of Under the Red Umbrella.
I came prepared! Lots of knitting and barely anything else. I just planned the trip to get some sunshine and do some knitting, so I totally went to the right place!

My CRAZY White Legs in the Sunshine

Katie’s New Bunny
I had a really fun time! I ate a TON, explored on my own, I met up with a lot of friends and family who have all settled in southern California, and soaked up a ton of Vitamin D. And now fully prepared to wait out the rest of this snowy Midwestern winter.
