Vintage Inspired Baseball Knits!
I could not be more excited to announce that I’ve got a pattern collection coming out through Knit Picks on Wednesday! Vintage Inspired Baseball Knits, by Allyson Dykhuizen. Pretty exciting, right?

The COVER!
Inside is 6 patterns – 2 cardigans inspired by actual sweaters worn by major league baseball players at the turn of the century sized for both men and woman, 2 pretty women’s tops, a fun baby onesie inspired by pinstripe baseball uniforms, and a team color coordinating blanket to bring with you to chilly night games.

Vintage Inspired
In June of 2011 I wrote about my trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame, and about how surprised I was to see all the knitting. I started doing research to find more information about these sweaters, but wasn’t coming up with anything. So when Knit Picks contacted me about putting together a collection for them, I jumped at the chance, and pitched (ha!) them the idea of a baseball inspired collection.
And here we are! Nearly 2 years later, and on the verge of launching the collection. Get excited, guys! More on Wednesday!

So proud!

I am so excited about this! This last year DH saw a vintage Phillies sweater in a catalogue that he really wanted me to knit up. I’ve been trying to figure out how to knit this up, the exact colours, what yarn to use, and how much I will need to make this for him. I can’t wait for you to release this pattern!

DUDE! I saw this in my knitpicks catalog and did a little jig for you. Obviously I don’t know you personally, but it still feels like one of my friends is now a celebrity. I guess that’s the beauty of the independent designer program? Congrats! It’s an amazing collection, and I totally want to knit a vintage baseball sweater! (Why don’t baseball players still wear these? I think they would be super cute on modern guys).
Cheers!
