Our Aidez Cardigans are off to the races. 6” down and… well. A LOT left to go. But we aren’t talking about that now! Those 6” were hard to come by, but you made it, and as a reward I’m giving you a nice and easy week of rolling with the chart of stitch patterns I made.
This Week’s Make Up Your Mind Goal: 6 more inches of the body of the sweater. Start just where you left off, and by the end of the week you’ll have 12 total sweater body inches finished.
There are some sneaky shaping decreases thrown in throughout the body of the sweater – first at 5”, again at 11 ½”, and again at 17”. Miss the first decrease row at 5”? Not a big deal. Throw it in here and continue like normal.
See? Easy peasy.

I’m completely addicted to this stitch pattern! All of them. Every few inches I take a peek at the cable progress and it’s so beautiful I just can’t stop working on it! It sure makes for some happy knitting.
I have more update pics than instructions this week! Here are some more progress pics:

Rachel's Aidez

I love seeing at these in situ Aidez WIPs!! I promise, this is a relatively quick knit–the original was done in 2 weeks on a super intense deadline. I wouldn’t recommend that though. Enjoy it!

P.S. “stopping to admire your knitting” is one of Maggie Righetti’s best pieces of advice. Helps you catch problems! Also, pride.

ooh! NO time to knit this weekend = not getting past the darn ribbing. Lots to catch up on, but all of this lovely work is inspiring!

Help! Ok so I just finished the 3 inches of ribbing and im going to start the chart you had last week but Im having trouble figuring out which side is the wrong side and the right side. This is my first sweater and I havent been knitting for too long so thanks for all the help in advance!

I’m about 3 inches behind where I should be /sadface/ BUT! the thought of having my WIP pic posted on this lovely blog, is all the motivation I need in order to catch up

Don’t even worry about what side is the right side and which is the wrong side. You are just doing a rib, and it looks the same on both sides! When you get to 3″, the next row you do, the row of knitting, will determine your WS.
Rock it out, girl!

Girl! You are too sweet! Thanks for your kind words and I can’t wait to see your progress!

Dang, I wish I’d found this blog before I started mine! I would love to have done front and back together. I’ve already got nearly 5″ of the back done though…do I frog and start over?? Hmmm…
Comment by Jen — October 25, 2011 @ 10:23 am
There are some people following along that are doing it piece by piece. 5″ isn’t a TON, and if you’ve got time to catch up this week it might be worth it to pull it and do it all together! I always like my pieces uniform, and the only way I guarantee it is by doing it ALL at once! haha
Good luck! You’ve got a tough decision in front of you!

Well Allyson, I decided against frogging. I’m using handspun and I hate to frog it unless I absolutely have to. I actually ended up frogging 3 rows last night because I didn’t realize that row 14 of trellis was on the NEXT PAGE and started over w/row 1 instead. Ouy vey, I shouldn’t knit and watch the Dog Whisperer at the same time lol. Rules, boundaries and limitations, story of my life!

Oh I totally understand. And that is so tricky about the trellis pattern! Hopefully it’s all smooth sailing from here.
And you can still knit along with us! Share progress pics on our Rav page! http://www.ravelry.com/groups/selfish-knitting-sweater-kal
