Aidez made a very strong, late push to beat Delancey, so I’ll have to wait a few more months to knit up that beautiful sweater. I’ll knit you some day, Delancey! I will!
But how cute is Aidez? Cute from the front AND really cute from the back.

Cabled Goodness
I love that y’all love cables as much as I do. First Beatnik, now Aidez?! I’m in cable heaven over here.
Our Fall Knit Along starts three weeks from today on Monday, October 17th! So let’s talk yarn. I’m going to do something I’ve never done before.
I’m going to knit a sweater in a dark neutral. Wool of the Andes Bulky in Stormy, to be exact. Shocked? Me too! Especially with all the beautiful colors Wool of the Andes Bulky comes in. But I’m doing it!
Aidez is a Berroco pattern so naturally it calls for Berroco Peruvia Quick, a beautiful super bulky yarn that also comes in a ton of beautiful colors. Look for a bulky yarn, a step larger than worsted, and we are going to knit this sweater FAST!
I’ve been reading reviews and it sounds like the pattern blocks out a size larger, which makes sense! With size 10 1/2 needles it’s bound to grow. So plan on knitting the sweater in a size smaller than you normally do, and get yarn accordingly.
And I’ve got to quickly mention how blown away I am at all the votes I got! I hardly think there will be so many of you actually participating in the KAL, but I still appreciate the participation.
Last but not least, we’ve got a winner in Katie’s yarn broach giveaway!
Congratulations, Mary!
I emailed Mary and will be mailing out her yarn broach ASAP. Did you miss out? Grab a broach at Katie’s Etsy Shop.

Huzzah! I’ve already cast on, haha! Also, I was a bit confused by the sizing issue. Take a look at the FO’s on Ravelry – a lot of them look small. I think that Cirilia is wearing a larger size in the photo, making it deceptively roomy-looking. Love the color you chose!

Crap! I voted for the Delancy, but the Aidez has been in my queue for months. I’m super tempted.

Yay! I’ve had yarn for Aidez for months now. This is the perfect excuse to start knitting it!

Rainy Daisy made this sweater recently and I’ve been dying to make it ever since.
Plus I think it’s time to get cabling again. Beatnik beat me up and I need to give another try!
I voted a few times becasue I couldn’t choose just one but I am stoked Aidez won!
3 weeks eh?
OYE! I better go yarn shopping…Plus I love that you tried a darker color.
Happy Monday!

O_o I won?! I am so flattered!! You guys!!
I am here for you! Re: sizing, I am wearing the small which is a size 36″ bust. For me that is about 3″ of ease. I’m a very annoying in-between bust size, not quite 32″ and not quite 34″. It is definitely great to have some ease with this sweater since it is knit in a bulky yarn.
I’ve definitely heard that the sleeve it fitting a bit tight on some folks, but I haven’t heard the post-blocking size jump! If you use the suggested yarn and match the gauge indicated in the pattern the fabric is actually pretty dense, so I didn’t experience any massive growth.
Please let me know if you have any more concerns. And please take a look at my pattern notes. I really screwed up the back when I knit it and you can choose to leave it as is or correct it, knitters choice!

Yahoo! I’d love to join in your KAL. I have had yarn for Aidez for a couple of months now. This gives me a little nudge to get my Coastal Hoodie done by Oct. 16.
