When William and Kate got married a few months ago it was a huge deal. Embarrassingly huge. So huge that I got a bunch of girls on twitter to make tiaras with me to wear when we live tweet the event at 3am. Now that’s love.
The headband part of my tiara actually turned out really wearable! Especially when it doesn’t have a huge tinfoil bow stuck to it.
This simple cabled headband is sure to be a staple in your wardrobe about 20 minutes after you cast it on. Oh yeah, it’s a quick knit. Mix it up with different yarn weights and needle sizes. You’ll want a ton of these!
Finished Size One size completely dependent on your personal gauge, materials, and head size.
Yarn One skein Knit Picks CotLin, 70% Tanquis Cotton, 30% Linen. 123 yds/50g: Sprout
Needles Size 8 (5 mm) straight needles.
GAUGE Not important.

that is a very cute headband!! simple cabled cuteness is dead on! Love it.

Hi there.
Very cute headband. I got the yarn to make this, but I am having issues with it. I got to row 11 and had to frog it. something was wrong. I slipped my 4 stitches, knit 4, then 4 from the cable and i had this odd end where the stitches were just looped and didn’t even look knitted. the pattern said c4b as the first thing, did I do something wrong? I really want to make this, it’s so cute and I have a short pixie cut too!
Thanks so much,
Deb

Hi Deb!
I’m so sorry you are having trouble, and I totally understand your confusion. When you do a cable at the very edge, it looks crazy. Keep working the pattern and you’ll see how it comes out. Once you were a few rows past this awkward cable, the stitches settle in and you can see that it’s correct. Once you finish the headband, block it out wide and it will look awesome!
