After leaving NYC, PT and I drove up to visit our friends Lucas and Laura in Boxborough Massachusetts, which is about an hour west of Boston, where they just bought a house. It’s adorable, and Boxborough, just west of Acton, is an adorable area and a great change of pace from a weekend of working at Renegade Brooklyn.

Penguins at the New England Aquarium!

We were really low key in Massachusetts; spending every evening in Boxborough making ice cream and playing games at home. We ventured into Boston to visit the New England Aquarium on my friend Sarah’s recommendation, because…

Sarah FEEDING THE PENGUINS!

… she volunteers to feed the penguins! That is her, just hanging out at the New England Aquarium, feeding the penguins. Doctor by day, penguin feeder on Tuesdays. She is also a rockin knitter! The woman does it all.

Jelly Fish!

The aquarium is super cool and totally worth hitting up even if you don’t know the woman feeding the penguins. Tons of jelly fish everywhere, gigantic turtles and sting rays you can pet! We loved it.

Cemetery in Salem Massachusetts

We also spent a day in Salem, MA, the site of the Salem Witch Trials in 1692, and that was also insanely cool. We spent a long time in this cemetery reading old gravestones. There is even an original Mayflower Pilgrim resting there.

Salem Beerworks

We hit up Salem Beer Works for their famous fruity beers – clearly watermelon and blueberry, with peach beer in the middle. They were all delicious and I could have sat there all day drinking blueberries in my beer.

PT and Me Just Hanging in Salem

We hit up the Salem Witch Museum and skipped stones off the Salem Pier. It is a really fun little town full of history and it’s only like an hour north of Boston.

I always have the best time in Massachusetts. It definitely helps having such good friends there, and the fact that we’re always fleeing the craziness of NYC. We’ll be back soon!
