My first project on the road trip was the Roses are Red baby headband by Never Not Knitting.
My niece is going to pop any moment, and naturally she needs lots of headbands so people know she is a girl. Her name is going to be Ryenn, so there just needs to be no doubt in anyone’s mind that she is a girl. This means flowers.
It turned out super cute! It was a ridiculously fast knit, especially since I upped the needle size from 1 (WHAT?!) to 2 (STILL TINY!), but when you are making a headband for a newborn, there isn’t a lot of head to cover.
I spread the flowers out more than in the pictures for the headband. Ryenn won’t have any hair at all so I figured she needed to get as much millage out of these flowers as she can get. I also didn’t have an other green yarn, so the leaves are the same color as the band and not very visible. But this just means I’ve got to make more!
I loved knitting this headband and am absolutely going to be making more of them. It’s easy and quick. It would make a great last minute shower gift! It’s a pattern that I’ll be coming back to a lot. Maybe even again on this trip!
