With our first two weeks of knit along we were doing the same thing. The Loop knitters were entrelacing and Make Up Your Mind knitters were Cellular Stitching. For better or worse, week three brings something completely different! So kiss entrelac and the cellular stitch goodbye, let’s stretch our knitting muscles and start mixing it up.
Make Up Your Mind

Gillian's Make Up Your Mind!
You’ve got the idea now, right?! We’re just moving along with the body of this tank, mixing up stitch patterns and challenging our concentration. Once you get use to doing one stitch it’s time to start working the next one! For week three we are moving on to the second band of the Make Up Your Mind tank.

Stacie's Unique Cellular Stitch!
This Week’s Make Up Your Mind Goal: Work the second band! We got a little taste of the Checkerboard Stitch when we knit up our gauge swatches, but now it’s time to kick it up a notch. Make sure your stitch count is on before starting your first row. You’ll need an even number of stitches to make this stitch pattern work, so if you’re off just decrease or increase yourself back to an even number.

At this point we’re still 2” longer than what the sweater suggests, so work your Checkerboard Stitch until your sweater is 7[7, 7, 8, 8, 8, 9, 9, 9] inches from your cast on edge, and work your garter stitch rows.
The Loop Entrelac Tank

Kiley's Entrelac Strap
Entrelac is behind us now, and it’s kind of a shame, right? Y’all got so good at it that the rest of this sweater is going to be a breeze!

Gillian's Entrelac Straps!
This week we are moving into the body of The Loop Entrelac Tank. It’s all pieces from here on out, and the first one we’re tackling is the left contrasting color front band. So grab a strap and let’s start picking up stitches. It helps me to use the pictures of the top to get perfect placement.
This Week’s The Loop Entrelac Tank Goal: Make the Left Contrasting Color Front Band. In case its not clear, that is one of those boob flaps coming off the sides of the entrelac straps. You’ll be working the piece in stockinette stitch for a few inches before starting your short row shaping.

Rachel's Entrelac Straps!
Yes I said SHORT ROW SHAPING but do you see that written in the pattern anywhere? Hell no. Because the surest way of throwing a knitter off is by saying anything about short rows or wrapping and turning. Just follow the shaping instructions and don’t over think it! Yeah, they’re short rows, but they don’t have to trip you up.
I hate wrap and turns so I never use them in a pattern, but if you like them feel free to use them while you shape here.
And you know I’m going to keep referring these bands as boob flaps from now on! Finish your boob flap and you’re done for the week!

I’m coming off Renegade Brooklyn this weekend and on my way to visit friends in Boston today for a couple days of RR&K (rest, relaxation, and knitting, of course), so much like last week I won’t be as readily available to answer your questions as I usually am. I’ll pop up when I can so keep using the forums, email me and tweet me!
Good luck and happy knitting!

It is so neat to see everyone’s variations!! How cool.
