I needed a break from constantly knitting tons and tons of the same thing over and over, so I put my creativity hat on this weekend and started attempting to design knitted jewelry for new kits and to sell at Renegade in June.
Jewelry is something I need to work at. I spend a lot of time looking at Etsy and trying to figure out how it works, what people like and wear, and what can have knitted elements worked into it. I don’t wear a lot of jewelry and I certainly don’t have any experience making it, so this is all pretty new to me.
But I’ve got to try to make it work because there is really nothing else to knit in June! I spent the weekend YET AGAIN trying to ward off this stupid cold I’ve been fighting, in my pjs, crocheting ruffles and twisting wire.
Please note how I subtle-y matched the ruffle to the stripes in my pj pants just for this pic. Right?! … no, I didn’t do that.
So what do you think? Like, a fun, fancier scrunchy bracelet? I’d love feedback!

These are sooo cute! Jewelry is the perfect summer knit/crochet project! I love the bright colors, too! They will be big hit!

I love that shade of blue, especially teamed with fuchsia or reds

I think it’s super cute. Since it’s such a light-weight yarn, even if you crocheted something really small and delicate as an add on to a wire bracelet or necklace it would still be beautiful and effective (and it would take less time to knit each one).

jewelry and accessories make PERFECT summer knits!

I personally am in to wearing billions of stretchy bracelets every day….matching or not!

I like it. I also think some variegated yarns would be pretty. Are you into attaching anything, like beads? Danglies might get annoying and/or weigh down the ruffle, but small beads woven into the knit would be cute.
