Last week, when I was going crazy knitting 16 Twin Cities Headbands, I’d pick up my Zig Zag Afghan and crochet a few rows. It gave my wrists and hands a break since crocheting and knitting have different motions, and it gave my brain a break from thinking about the same pattern over and over and over and over.

Lotta Zigs and Zags

And yesterday I checked my pattern and I was only 3 rows from finishing it! It was like magic!

DONE!

This is a great pattern. It was simple, and after a few rows you can just kind of eyeball where the increases and decreases are so you don’t really have to count. It’s a great project to have sitting next to your chair.

It took me a while to get through it – according to Ravelry I started this guy on March 5th. But I went gangbusters on it for about a week then laid off. I was 60% through it by March 15th.

Cat Butt

It’s a good size! Perfect for throwing over the back of a couch (I would show you, but I don’t have a couch) or the end of a bed. It will be a great lap blanket, and I love the silly colors.

Ready to Go!

So I’ll be wrapping this puppy up and sending it off to Jamie and Diana. Scout, their dog, can chew it, it can (and will) get beer spilled on it, and it can just go in the washer and dryer any time. It’s the beauty of acrylic! LOW maintenance is always a good thing.
