It’s no use. I tried to be good and knit my Wedding Shrug, but I just can’t NOT be knitting my Charvet Pullover. There is just nothing to be done but finish my Charvet, and then go gangbusters on the Wedding Shrug.

Back All Finished, Front Nearly So

… luckily I haven’t done much else. I’m completely finished with the back and am nearly finished with the front.

Front Shaping

I can’t get over the shaping! As a designer, I have no idea how someone went about figuring out how to make this sweater happen. And it’s EVEN. You are shaping two completely different parts of the sweater at once two different times when you are shaping this neckline. Every time I got to a new step I would read and giggle! It’s really mind-blowing in the most enjoyable way possible.

Keeping Track of ALL THAT SHAPING!

It has been a challenge keeping track of everything going on in every row. These are my notes for the front and back. Let’s just say I couldn’t take this project on the bus with me. But amazingly I only screwed up once, when I misread a period for a comma and did some crazy shaping on one side for a few rows. I pulled it and got back on track in no time because of how easy it is to figure out where you are. A lot of the counting isn’t stitches, it’s garter stitch ribs. Holla!

Such Pretty Striping

I’m slightly concerned I won’t have enough yarn. I know I’ll be able to get through the sleeves, but that bottom band, neck, and sleeve edging has got me a little worried. But I’ve got a plan! If I run out I’m just going to use up some stash and use a completely different color for the bands.

Crazy, I know. But the closest JoAnn is over 7 miles away and damn near impossible to get to without a car. Necessity is the mother of invention.

Twisted Rib DONE!

AND I’ve cast on my Beatnik for the knit along! I’ve got a little twisted rib going on here and am again so in love with the Knit Picks City Tweed DK! The color is glorious.

Isn’t selfish sweater knitting the best?!
