I’ve been working on holiday presents and pattern writing for a couple months now, and I’m itching to get back to some selfish knitting. Around here once holiday presents are knit we go on gift knitting hiatus, and I’ve already got my first three projects planned out.

Koukla Sweater

I’ve had my eye on The Yarniad’s Koukla since I won a copy of Brave New Knits last month. It’s taken a HUGE amount of will power not to have cast this puppy on already, especially since the book keeps staring my down from my bookcase.

Bergen Street Cardigan

I found this among the patterns on Knit Picks a few weeks ago and I fell in love. I love how the sleeves are set in there, and the wide button band. Alexis Winslow‘s Bergen Street is a must knit for me, and it’s even nicer when I can just roll on over to Knit Picks and get the pattern and yarn in one swoop.

Beatnik

I spotted Norah Gaughan‘s Beatnik in the fall knitty, but back then I was in my DON’TLOOKDON’TLOOKDON’TLOOK phase. Now I’ve accepted it. This cabled sweater must be mine. It has to happen. The worst part about this one is that I’m really curious about what yarn I’ll use for it, but I know that if I start looking around I’ll buy it. Then I’ll have it in my house. And that just won’t do. So, future yarn, whatever you are, we’ll meet someday. And it will be awesome.

So are you already planning your selfish knits?
