I gave you a little flamingo teaser on Monday, and this week I’ve been working really hard to finish my flamingos up so I could declare today…
FLAMINGO FRIDAY!
Though Pudge doesn’t love the idea.
I saw this flamingo pattern on the Spud & Chloe blog and knew instantly that I needed to knit my grandma flamingos this Christmas. Last year she got elephants. This year she gets flamingos! I think that is moving up in the world.
The pattern is great. The M1+K1=KFB always annoys me but I made it happen. I made it happen FIVE times.
The pattern, however, calls for a bouncy ball body and pipe cleaners to shape the neck, but I cut out all that. These guys are just stuffed with poly-fill; cuddly, soft, and adorable.
I used Lion Brand Wool-Ease worsted and size 6 needles. I dug a tiny bit of black and cream out of my bag of scraps for the beak.
I’ve been carrying these guys around with me to classes, and something tells me more and more flamingos will be popping up on holiday knitting to do lists very soon. And why not?! One flamingo takes about 4 hours to knit and is as cute as a button.
So go celebrate Flamingo Friday in style! Wear only pink. Eat only pink food. And be sure to cast on one of these cute toys.
Pattern: Flamingo by Spud & Cloe
Yarn: One skein each Rose Heather and Blush Heather, Lion Brand Wool Ease Worsted
Needles: Size 6 double pointeds

Wow!!! These are fabulous! However I will not be making them for a grandmother, I will be making them for myself! Thanks for sharing this great pattern

Grandma is going to love these. I like them enjoying the sun, they really have personality plus. I still have not caught what your Mom is getting for Christmas. I know how wonderful she is, so it has to be something great!
