Tent-Bound
August is usually a rough month. I’ve had this theory for a while now; August and April. In April people are angry that it is still cold and rainy and they pick fights and throw things. In August people are hot and irritated and they pick fights and shoot other people. At least that is how it goes down in Chicago. So I’ve learned to skip town in August.

Pete The Llama

I haven’t lived at home since I was 18, so my parents usually welcome me home with open arms and a tent in the front yard. Come Wednesday I will be in that tent, just me and the crickets.

Last year I went for 6 weeks, this year I’m going for 8 days. Progress! I’ve got a couple classes scheduled for the third week in August, and around that time you will be getting one of these newsletters PACKED with fall classes. PACKED! It’s going to be good.

I’ll be blogging from my parent’s log cabin in Michigan (actually, no, I’ll be blogging from the Biggby Coffee with free wireless in ‘downtown’ Allendale because the cabin has DIAL UP), so check in with me once in a while. I get a little lonely up there just hanging with my mom’s dogs, cats, goat, llama, and two fat ducks.
